"THE GLORY OF THE STORY"
A New Literary Series Taught by Elliot in person!

Join us for this new lecture series and learn in-person from Elliot Engel himself!
We hope to meet on a regular basis in charming downtown Apex, North Carolina, where Elliot will analyze and discuss, in his inimitable way, specific short stories by famous authors. These stories will be made available to registrants beforehand so that they may read and think about these brilliant but neglected works of fiction before Elliot gives his own analysis of these gems.
The reading for the November class is The Signalman by Charles Dickens.
You can read it online by clicking the title or by clicking HERE. If you are on a PC, you can print it out by right-clicking and selecting "print", or by clicking CTRL-P. To save paper, note that you can adjust which pages print (on my screen, I could leave off pages 1 and 2 and the final page) and adjust the font size (if needed, click "More Settings" in the print dialog to access this. I set my scale to 125 percent).

Each class will tentatively consist of one lecture of approximately an hour, with time afterwards to talk with Elliot and purchase personally inscribed CD recordings at half price. The cost for this class is $30.00 through November 1st ($35.00 starting November 2nd).
For those of you who live far away, you can still participate -- we are recording these classes to offer them later on CD as well. Be sure you are on Elliot's email list and keep your eye out for an email when each one is finished and ready for online purchase. We will meet at the historic Halle Cultural Arts Center at 237 N. Salem Street, Apex, NC. The Halle is conveniently located in the center of downtown Apex - perfect for you to have lunch and do some shopping after class.
You have many great restaurants to choose from, as well as boutiques, antique shops, and other stores to peruse for a relaxing afternoon.
IN ORDER FOR THESE CLASSES TO CONTINUE, WE NEED A LARGE GROUP AT EACH MEETING! Please help us spread the word. You might even know a few middle or high school students who would enjoy experiencing a college-level class with our favorite professor.

Cancellation and refund policy: We know things come up. We will gladly give you a full refund until November 1st. After that, if you have to cancel, we will give you merchandise credit (toward Elliot's CDs, DVDs, digital downloads or a future class).
There will be no class in December, as it is Elliot's busiest month on tour. Class dates for 2018, depending on attendance numbers, will be announced later.
